The performance of my work for violin, alto saxophone, and piano "The Midnight Train" at Nicholls State University on November 8, 2019, by Nicholls State University faculty Taylor Barbay Assad, saxophone, James Alexander, violin, and Luciana Soares, piano. Special thanks to my dear friend and wonderful saxophonist, Taylor. Honored to be part of an amazing program of contemporary music including great works by Dinos Constantinides and a wonderful programmatic work "Monument - Dance Variations" by Stanley Friedman.
Today was very special to me. I was officially featured as Louisiana Music Teachers Association (LMTA) 2019 Commissioned Composer at the LMTA Conference at Louisiana State University and had the premiere of the commissioned work “Perceptions, for Flute and Clarinet” - funded by LMTA and MTNA - by excellent performers Shanna Reid Drescher, flute, and Victor Drescher, clarinet. I am very grateful for this amazing opportunity and huge milestone in my career. Many thanks to Dr. Al Benner, the Commissioned Composer Chair, for his very kind support. Also, special thanks to Shanna and Victor Drescher for their commitment and dedication and for bringing life into Perceptions.

"The Constanta Symphony Orchestra in Romania presented a concert of music of Dinos Constantinides, Boyd Professor at Louisiana University, on September 20, 2019. Many works from Louisiana were performed and some of them will be appeared again at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on September 30, 2019. It was amazing to attend the third annual Music by Women Festival at Mississippi University for Women! The festival directed by Dr. Julia Mortyakova featured numerous concerts and lectures all in celebration of the contributions of women composers, past and present! I had the honor to meet incredible performers and composers including Dr. Elizabeth Sullivan who performed my work for solo oboe “Disputations” last year at the second annual Music by Women Festival.

I am thrilled to announce that I have been selected as one of the finalists of the fifth annual String Quartet Smackdown by Golden Hornet! A panel of judges selected the sixteen finalist compositions to be performed live at Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar in Austin, TX, on February 23, 2019, at 7 PM by Invoke String Quartet. The live audience in attendance will determine the winner by voting for their favorite pieces in each round. The winner of each round moves on in the tournament... and the champion will receive a grand prize of $1,500!

Thrilled for being among the finalists and part of that amazing event! Very excited for the world premiere of my work "Infinite" commissioned by Figmentum Ensemble in its second concert of the season Rock, Paper, Toy Pianos on February 15 at 7:30 PM in San Diego, California.
You are invited to the Composers forum first concert of the semester titled “Music for Strings” featuring Judy Constantinides (reader), Loraine Sims (soprano), Dinos Constantinides (conductor), and Louisiana Sinfonietta String Quartet this Sunday, Feb. 10, at 2 PM at LSU School of Music Recital Hall. Music by Schumann, Berlioz, Franklin, Jones, Knox, and Iravani as well as musical story Camel Got His Hump by Constantinides will be performed. The concert is free admission and open to the public.
