I am very excited to announce that I have been selected as a finalist for the Composition Competition at the second annual Darkwater Women In Music Festival. This is a festival that celebrates women in music through papers, panels, and performances to be held on March 6-7 at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. The selected compositions including my work for flute and clarinet “Perceptions” will be performed by Catchfire Collective in a live concert at the festival and first, second, and third prizes will be given after the performance. Looking forward!
Very excited and looking forward to performances of my flute works "Fusion" and "Departure" by excellent flutist Roya Farzaneh (https://www.royafarzaneh.com/) in her presence at various festivals - Flute New Music Consortium (FNMC) New Music Festival on January 19, 2020, at SUNY Stony Brook University in Stony Brook (NY), Florida Flute Association on January 26, 2020, in Orlando (FL), and possibly Mid Atlantic Flute Festival and Mid South Flute Festival. Many congratulations on such an active career as an artist and scholar, dear Roya. I am truly honored to be part of it and very looking forward to future collaborations.
